Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron is getting married, USA Today reports. McCarron proposed to Katherine Webb today.
The couple had long-time fans ever since they started dating and were first seen together at McCarron's college football field.
Rumors of them breaking up sprouted every now and then but the large ring on Webb's finger says that the two are more serious than ever. It seemed like the college football couple has already matured and are now ready to take their relationship to the next step.
On her Twitter account, Webb posted a picture of them hugging tightly this morning, "WE'RE ENGAGEDDD!!! @10AJMcCarron."
This particular Twitter post received an estimated 7,600 retweets and almost 12,000 favorites.
A few minutes later, Webb posted the picture of her engagement ring, captioning it with, "He designed it himself <3 @10AJMcCarron."
Webb graduated in 2011 from Auburn and won Miss Alabama in 2012. McCarron has an outstanding quarterback record with three national titles in his four years with the Crimson Tide. Two of these wins were from 2011 and 2012 where he played starting quarterback.
The couple has reportedly been dating since 2012, according to ABC.
The 23-year-old star quarterback is currently waiting for the NFL Draft Countdown which is 39 days from now. The NFL ranked McCarron fifth at his position.
On the other hand, his fiancé had made it to the news when Webb "unintentionally" grabbed the spotlight from ESPN commentator Brent Musberger, who eventually apologized saying that her rant was inappropriate.
Despite the negative news surrounding the incident with Musberger, Webb still made a fantastic turnaround when she was chosen to appear in the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated.
