Alright, we have at least a seven-month wait before Season 5 of 'The Walking Dead' premieres. Thankfully, Scott Gimple, a writer for the series, has already started dishing on what we can expect from season five. So, what do we know so far? Let's review!
Robert Kirkman and
Scott Gimple are already talking about what we should - and should not - expect from season five of The Walking Dead. Cannibals, anyone? 'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Spoilers
Are you still reeling from the March 30 season finale of The Walking Dead? Don't worry, you're not alone. However, series and comic creator Robert Kirkman, along with writer Scott Gimple, are already revealing some very telling information about the upcoming fifth season.
I'll cut through the red tape right here though: there is no straight answer about the alleged Terminus cannibals. But, Scott has revealed that we will not have to suffer through too many filler episodes of season five before finding out what Mary, Gareth, and the rest of Terminus are really up to.
"The truth of what those people are about will come super quick. When people tune in in October, they're not going to have to wait a super long time to find out what they're about," the writer told TVGuide in a post-finale interview.
Take Our Poll
Robert chimed in with some interesting points about Terminus: if they want to eat Rick & Co., why are they trying so hard to keep them alive?
"The big question over the hiatus is what are the various reasons that they'd want these people to be alive?" Robert asks during the same interview. "What could their plans possibly be? There are some answers out there, but they may not be exactly what you think."
As many of you know, the internet has been ablaze with speculation that Mary offered up plates of Beth to Maggie, Glenn, and their group when they arrived. But Scott disagrees, and he told Zap2It that we have every reason to believe that Beth, along with Carol and Tyrese, are still out there in the world. So, we shouldn't assume they are locked in a train car at Terminus, or splattered across Mary's grill. 'The Walking Dead' Season 5a Will Be A 'Nuclear Weapon'
During an interview, Scott also touched on the fact that each half-season of The Walking Dead reinvents itself completely. The second half of season four showed Rick & Co. on the run again, but this time the stakes were much higher - and more violent. Scott promises that the first half of season five will be " a nuclear weapon. "
Though that's a vague teaser,
Andrew Lincoln revealed how he is preparing to continue Rick's psychotic break for next season on the March 30 episode of The Talking Dead.
"I've got to get going," he told show host
Chris Hardwick. "I'm just going to be listening to a lot of
AC/DC and turning tables over and that kind of thing."
It sounds like Andrew is preparing for battle, which is not surprising. As Rick said, the people of Terminus do not know who they are messing with.
